TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
TRANS STAR believes and recognizes the vital importance of our crew training and career development. To continually meet our clients’ requirements, we have established a structural training scheme covering the mandatory and company specific range of training and upgrading of our seafarers that meet the standard set-forth by the STCW Convention, as amended and various relevant flag-state requirements.
In addition to our In-House training and pre-departure briefing seminar covering the individual client, we have partnered with reputable MARINA Accredited Training Centers for our seafarers upgrading and enhancement of their skills thru simulators in accordance with every clients Shipboard Management System and other simulators activities.

Sourcing the best seafarers, to ensure that the quality of the personnel we employ meet the standards set-forth by our clients, is a fundamental part of our business.
Rigid technical interview and written or computer-based screening procedures are strictly implemented during the recruitment process. Checking of each individual seagoing services, including but not limited to Background or Reference checking, health conditions and records, good command of English (written and Oral), Verification on the authenticity of their License, Certificates of Competency and Proficiency and Training certificate are the mandatory processes being done prior considering anyone for shipboard assignment, Company standard recruitment guidelines in terms of age, experience in rank, of the same type of vessels, trade routes, etc. are strictly followed.
We encouraged our clients to embark on cadetship program wherein, Trans Star and the Principal, collectively source potential maritime students to develop, hone and train to adopt to the Company’s philosophy, culture and work ethics. Most importantly, to be assured of continuous supply of home-grown officers for the fleet.
TRANS STAR maintains a complete computerized database of our seafarers- Maritime Personnel System (MPS) – A Crew Management Module used to optimize our crew planning and to produce a variety of database generated crew list, crew on vacation, crew on sick leave and crew’s availability to return for shipboard assignment, importantly, generating the crew’s individual performance report records and re-hire status of our seafarers.
TRANS STAR gather seafarers’ feedbacks reports covering the General condition of the vessels, Quality of Foods on board, Personal experiences with foreign Senior Officers, Accidents on board, if any, and most importantly, their willingness to return to the same Principal and his availability to return for nd Keep shipboard assignment. TRANS STAR Management Team is composed of seasoned and well-experienced Master Mariners, Chief Engineers and Management Degree holders who oversee the selection, administration and crew planning, Their experience in the field of crewing gives TRANS STAR the edge to ensure efficient and effective management and coordination with our clients while dealing with any challenging demands.
Crew Administration such as Processing Crew claims and welfare, Accounting and Training are being handled by seasoned, experienced and dynamic team that satisfies the most challenging demands of our clients and government requirements.
