The Day of the Seafarer is an annual celebration designated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that aims to recognize the significant contributions of seafarers from all over the world to international seaborne trade, the world economy and civil society. In the Philippines, it is commemorated every 25th of June pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 183 series of 2011.

This year, the Day of the Filipino Seafarer proudly recognizes seafarers' invaluable contribution to fostering a safer maritime sector, echoing the global theme, ‘Navigating the Future: Safety First.’ It seeks to reflect a commitment to enhancing maritime safety through rigorous training, advanced technology adoption, and proactive safety measures.

Join us in celebrating this important day with main activities including a symposium focusing on advancements in maritime safety practices and the solemn oath-taking ceremony of harbor pilots and merchant marine officers.
